Apprenticeships, traineeships and school-based hospitality training programs


What's on offer?

Cookery apprenticeships

A cookery apprenticeship is a way of combining paid work with structured hospitality training. HGT’s Cookery Apprenticeship is a 4-year contract of on-the-job hospitality training.

Food and beverage traineeships

A food and beverage traineeship is a way of combining paid work with structured hospitality training.  HGT’s Food and Beverage Traineeship is a two-year contract of full-time hospitality training, for a minimum of 38 hours per week.

School-based apprenticeships

School based apprenticeships (ASbA) are a way of combining school with paid work and structured hospitality training. HGT’s School Based Apprenticeship lets you begin your hospitality career while completing your SACE studies. You will be required to work a minimum of eight hours a week (both during school time and holiday time). If agreed with your school, you can work more hours (outside of school time).
